The breakfast was simple but still very tasty. I did wish it was available till 11 or 12 though, rather than 10

Proud owners who look after their property with great dedication and thought. Attention to detail and to the needs of guests. The facilities exeded my expecttions. Pity I didn't take my swiming costume to use the sauna and hot tub, information not mentioned or not highlighted enough on the wesite.
An adult-only guest house which offers free WiFi access and free parking, The Earlsdale Bed and Breakfast is located within walking distance of Ilfracombe Town Centre and harbour, and the historic...

Wow! is what best describes Lewis & James’s place.
If you’re looking for a beautiful place to stay with perfect hosts then this is the place for you.
Beautiful decor all through the house and bedrooms. All the bathroom products are sustainable products down to ‘who gives a crap’ toilet rolls. I’d forgotten my shampoo but noticed the little slab of Devon soap that said you could wash your hair with it and I thought no way only to eat my words as it was amazing and left my hair so soft.
Then breakfast the next day and I can honestly say it was the best breakfast I’ve ever had anywhere, Lewis brought fresh fruit out then showed us all the other stuff like overnight oats, croissants, cereal, yogurts, jams , fresh orange juice and this was before our full English with quality bacon & sausages and beautiful homemade bread toasted.
I would definitely recommend this place if you like quality all round.
Thanks again Marie & Alan

Ilfracombe is a lovely place to visit, however please be aware how hilly it is. Walking down to harbour is easy but the return journey can be a bit of a slog.
Had gluten free fish and chips from Lynbay fish and chip shop.
Gluten free cream tea from St James tea garden.
Wasn't overly impressed with the beach as it mainly slate pebbles, but Woolacombe is not far away with golden sands.

Many part of this town including its HIGH STREET are looking terribly run down and rough. So too some pubs ...
I'm sure it will perk up in higher season but money needs to be spent on its appearance .
The streets felt as safe as most places in Britain and some Bistros and cafes were delightful. Roads are narrow and some extremely vertiginous . Parking can be an issue in high season I guess.

Ilfracombe is worth a visit and is probably better in the summer than when we visited. We preferred Woolacombe and Puttsborough beach is great for surfing. We walked around Baggy Point and saw some amazing views. Well worth a visit.

There were some really lovely parts of Ilfracombe and some not so nice , like most towns . Most of the architecture is stunning with old and new together but some new don't fit in. The scenery on the coast is amazing with lots of craggy coves and you can walk along the South West Coast Path . There is a small harbour where a stunning Damien Hirst statue is of Verity ,Statue of Justice if I remember correctly Parts of Ilfracombe are quite steep but there are slopes and some roads on the flat. We ate Sunday lunch at the Thatched Inn , had Breakfast at the Lime Kiln Cafe down by a cove . We loved it.

Lovely rugged coastline all still very natural.
Lovely rugged coastline all still very natural. The town however was a little disappointing in terms of felt a bit run down and lacking in investment in some areas. Worth a visit altho not too long as I think more useful to use as a base to travel than a holiday in as wasn’t enough to offer.

As we were attending a wedding it was a good location for us but probably not the right time of year for shopping etc as most of the shops were empty or closed down. I'm sure its much better in the summer!
The hosts were very welcoming and informative. There is a wide variety of choice for breakfast including full Devon breakfast meat/vegetarian or fish - smoked haddock/kippers, fruit, continental etc. The service was excellent. Room was cleaned as requested daily. Eco-friendly measures were implemented. We stayed in room 4 and the room was spacious, clean and the bed was comfortable. The location of the hotel was convenient for our purposes of exploring the local area via the coastal path walks and the harbour.
The drive there was wild, wet and windy. It was quite late and dark. Eventually I found myself driving really slowly down windy narrow lanes into Ilfracombe. The postcode took me directly too a very convenient car park. The hotel had a nice bar with Doom Bar on tap. The room was just right. I had to leave early for my work in Barnstaple so missed breakfast. Luckily there was a Wetherspoons in Barnstaple to the rescue. I think I will book in again for a quiet few days soon.
From the moment we arrived till the moment we left both Nicki and Johnah really made our stay special. From going above and beyond with Breakfast due to our dietary requirements to helping us with parking and we’re just always on hand to help.
We will definitely be returning to Ilfracombe and wouldn’t stay anywhere else.
We had the top floor room with views of the gorgeous town, the room was beautiful decorated and immaculate.
The fact ChamberCombe was so close to Hele & Ilfracombe. They were in easy walking distance.
The location was very quiet & the Hayloft apartment was detached so we were not having to keep that quiet like we would in a hotel or guest house. Overall it was a very relaxing, enjoyable, restful time which we were both looking for. We would definitely book this apartment again.
Great location for visiting Ilfracombe and north devon in general. Heather was a lovely host welcoming and friendly. The room was comfortable clean and tidy. The ensuite had a good shower and was a decent size. Parking was limited but free on the drive way. Really liked the garden area which offered an alternative to sitting in our room.
The Devonian is a complete delight, the decor, the friendliness, the delicious breakfast, the location. Terence and Piper went above and beyond to make sure our stay was everything we wanted it to be. We stayed in the Olive Room which was beautifully decorated with such attention to detail. Thank you so much x
Very nice hotel, with lots of original features, ongoing renovations but they don't impact on your stay. Nice airy rooms with excellent quality bed linen and towels, nice surprise was the small fridge, breakfast was freshly cooked and plenty of choice, very pleasant walk into the centre of Ilfracombe
The hotel was selected as it needed to be near where my friends were staying. It was an ideal location within easy walking distance of all parts of the town. Unless venturing further afield there is no need for the car to move while staying in Ilfracombe with everything pretty much on the doorstep.
A very cosy base for a few days in Ilfracombe and North Devon. It was a short walk in to Ilfracombe with some excellent restaurants and pubs. Everything you needed for an easy self catering holiday was provided. Communication with the owners was excellent. I will almost certainly aim to return.
Lovely top floor apartment ...great views over Ilfracombe. Clean and spacious. Comfy beds too, Lots of contact with host prior and during stay very helpful. We did not meet host but was given lots of useful info and was immediately contactable when we got confused over which apartment we had!
breakfast briliant one of the best b&b breakfasts i've had room lovely and clean host very polite but down to earth and nothing seemed to be a trouble to her we could,nt of asked for more we were on the boundry to ilfracombe a great spot to visit nearby city's in north devon if you drive
Location was good, just a few minutes drive from Ilfracombe, inorder to board ship to Lundy Island and a short drive to Exmoor Zoo. Large bar and restaurant were good. Bar manager was excellent, great customer service. Short distance from Tesco, short walk if not wishing to drive.
Warm welcome. Excellent suite with luxury bedding/ furniture/ toiletries. Exceptional choice for breakfast for every taste/ appetite. Fabulously grand building adapted well for a boutique hotel feel. Plenty of parking on site. Located just out of town, perfect to explore the area.
The hotel is central to everything in Ilfracombe. The room was lovely, spacious and immaculate. Breakfast was delicious, hot and well cooked. The whole hotel was lovely, clean, warm and comfortable.
