We stay 4 days at Casa da Vargem,
It is an amazing villa, with a wonderful view to the ocean .
The casa designed in modern clean architecture ,which together with the panoramic view of the nature around, gives kind of “Zen atmosphere” .
The place is really amazing, much better then the photos!
Miguel the owner use to work for many years at hotels, and the Villas are his dream come true. You can feel and see his professional touch in every detail at the villa which has 2 bedrooms, leaving room, wonderful shower, amazing swimming pool, hot tab at the garden, very well equipped kitchen and privet garden with plants and herbs that the guest can use for cooking or tee.
There are also many other useful facilities that you can use such as washing and drying machine, every thing is new and works perfect.
The bottom line is -5 stars experience.
Next time we will be in madeira we will be back to Casa da Vargem.🌺

Location turned out to be good, quite a small village with some lovely friendly residents. Great pizza place opposite. Few nice bars and shops. Bit isolated, but great taxi sevice and some buses. The property itself was lovely. The annex (little house we called it) was ideal for the young couple in our party. Having mobility issues myself, the downstairs bedroom and adapted bathroom were ideal. The ramp access provided helped too. Garden and outdoor space were great. The views were fabulous. Lovely well equipped kitchen, with all mod cons. The place grew on me as the week wore on, pity we weren't there longer to try out the bbq facilities and enjoy the garden some more.

Ponta do Sol in itself is nothing really special.
Ponta do Sol in itself is nothing really special. But given the fact that you have rental car you can just discover the whole island. It is highly recommended to visit Calheta, there is a very nice harbour and little boulevard. Must go there is restaurant Manifattura Di Gelato. Another very good restaurant is La Vaca Negra in Funchal; best steaks ever!

Such a pretty little place - lots of winding streets - many pedestrian only, and good restaurants too. We mostly ate at the hotel, but also at a restaurant called Caprice which was fantastic and great value for money. We were delighted to find lots of interesting sculpture around the place which was fascinating, and the people were all very chilled and welcoming. The pavements are mostly cobbled, and of course there are lots of hills so challenging if your mobility is reduced as my parent's was - didn't stop us though - we just took our time and there were regular places to sit and rest along the way.

Its a very good place to base yourself as its very easy to get around the island from there, there are may different walks within a short drive.. It is a very small but quaint place. You get the most amazing sunsets in Ponta do Sol .

After seeing all of the towns and villages in Madeira, we liked Ponta do Sol the most. It's really welcoming with nice people and beautiful houses. And of course - Ponta do Sol is the sunniest town in Madeira!
