Located along the Avon River, NZ’s 2nd-largest city has Victoria Square at its centre. Surrounding highlights include the Canterbury Museum and the Gothic-style Arts Centre. Sumner Beach is a favourite location for locals when the sun shines.
Out towards the spectacular harbour town of Lyttelton is the Christchurch Gondola ride where you can enjoy a sweeping view of the city.
The South Island’s capital is a good starting-off point for extreme sports such as bungee jumping and white-water rafting. The majestic Southern Alps surround the city and offer world-class ski resorts such as Methven, at the foot of Mt. Hutt.

Es una ciudad que merece la pena visitar ya que fue donde tuvo lugar el terremoto más caótico de la historia del país, todavía continúa restaurándose. Las distancias son enormes y la ciudad es totalmente plana. Aparte de los jardines botánicos y Hagley Park no hay mucho más que ver. El paseo junto al río Avon es bastante bonito.

La ciudad tiene poco que ofrecer para un europeo, un pequeño centro agradable alrededor del río, una catedral en obras des pués del terremoto y un bonito jardín botánico. Es una ciudad fácil para moverse por ella en coche, al ser pequeña no hay atascos.

Christchurch fue en mi caso la salida de New Zeland a Australia. Teniendo en cuenta que fue devastada por dos terremotos en 2010 y 2011 se encuentra bastante reconstruida y vale la pena recorrerla. Tiene lugares muy pintorescos al lado del rio y el centro merecen la pena ser caminados.-

La mayor ventaja es la cercanía al aeropuerto y la oferta de transfer al mismo incluida en el precio. La habitación incluye una pequeña cocina, y tenía salida a un jardín por la parte de atrás. Se puede aparcar el coche en la puerta de la habitación, lo que es conveniente si llevas mucho equipaje. El personal del hotel resultó atento y amable. Se puede ir al centro de Auckland en autobús urbano en poco más de 30 minutos.FernandoEspaña

La cafetería ubicada en el primer piso del hotel tiene una buena selección de dulce y salado, para todos los paladares.
