Location is amazing - on a hill, in a peaceful area next to a nice village. Accommodation is perfectly maintained, all authentic vintage furniture is in great condition which creates a sense of time travel in this hotel. Food was good and the view from the restaurant is breath taking. A great place to spend a couple of days away from the hassle and enjoy the nature.

Good buffet dinner and breakfast. Willingness to change our room when it was found that there was a bird nest right by our AC outlet - the babies WOULD HAVE DIED if the AC had been used. I communicated with the management, and they assure me that the pipe will be deflected, or the room not used until the baby birds have flown.

The hotel was amazing. The Host is very kind and friendly, available to give us directions and advice, such as where to dine (really good suggestion!). The room was spacious and characteristic, very Turkish style hotel. No parking problems. The hotel is located in an area with many restaurants, bars and other facilities. Breakfast is with fixed dish (no possibility to choose from a buffet) with bread, olive, cheeses (yummy!), eggs as you want... so we didn' starve! :-) recommend

We spent 3 days - one day in Selcuk ( there are 3 sites including Ephesus Museum worth one day) and one day doing Ephesus with a private guide( excellent and picked by the hote) and make sure you do the Terraces( many tours don't include it) and finally you can do 3 amazing sites 1-2 hours away - Piriene, Milietus and Didyma ( very few people do this but worth it). The hotel staff can help you

Smaller and less touristy with locals attentive to your need and willingness to help. Ephesus Archeological Park was the highlight of the visit. There is no dearth of choices for eating - from local Turkish dishes to Burger King. Selchuk is more convenient to stay as beginning from morning you can at your leisurely pace cover St John's Basilica, Artemis Temple, Ephesus Archeological Park and Virgin Mary's House all in one day.

we stayed in Sirince.
we stayed in Sirince. An antique village in the mountains outside of Selcuk. A 19th Century experience in small town Turkey. Bring good shoes for steep hills and uneven ground. Good natural foods from local farms. Expect an authentic experience.

I’m not sure why anyone from away would come to Selcuk unless they were there to see the antique ruins of Ephesus. That is certainly why we came. If you are in Turkey- I suggest it is a must see.
Ephesus is one of the most excavated sites in the world. It is humbling to see how much as a civilized culture we have forgotten- or forgot and have had to rediscover over the millenniums.
That said, Selcuk had decent dining options, and other attractions like the Ephesus Museum (where the artifacts are housed), and the Saint John Basilica which are fantastic. Both are blocks from the Akanthus hotel (which I reviewed separately and highly recommend .

Amazing place in order to visit not only Ephesus but other ancient greek cities nearby too. The city in itself has also many touristic spots in itself (like the lonely column that remains ot the ancient Artemision).
On the way back from my coastal trip in Turkey I spend a night in this cosy hotel. It is surrounded by historical sites and museums. Artemis Temple is just next to the hotel and ancient town of Ephesus is in walking distance. Very clean and had all the things I needed. Well decorated garden with historical artifacts. Loved the breakfast they served. Friendly owners gave a lot of tips to visit surroundings. Definitely coming back for a longer stay. Great stay and great value for money!
Lovely quaint hotel. We all love the rooms and the garden where we had our sumptous breakfast. The location is so close to Basilica of St John and Ephesus Museum. It is also close to several restaurant, shops and walking distance to train station and bus/shuttle bus terminal.
The owner was also so helpful. He dropped us off to Ephesus for free and also helped us arranged for airport transfer and a visit to House of Virgin Mary. We really enjoyed and loved our stay in Selcuk.
Urkmez is not a hotel. Its a home away from home. It was my last place to stay in turkey and what a surprise gift. I enjoyed the hospitality of Urkmez family and by the end of stay I was part of the family. Great breakfast, neat and clean room, very strong wi fi connection. Above all a warm welcome, every time I came back from my daily tour.
I will miss them. Each one of them. My good wishes to urkmez family.
Staff was extremely welcoming and helpful (shoutout to Mellik & Okyay). The views of Selcuk are spectacular and the terrace area and pool are wonderful. Breakfast is delicious as well.
We made the mistake of walking to the property from the train station the first day. The distance is not fair but a VERY steep climb. Contact the hotel and they will pickup/drop you off from the train station complimentary.
My husband and I toured all over Turkey and stayed at some fabulous places, but this was my absolute favorite!! I so wish we could have stayed longer, but we booked it only for our last night.
It felt like a REAL authentic Turkish experience. The food was delicious, and the aesthetic couldn’t have been more romantic. The photos really does the place an injustice. It’s SO much more fabulous in person.
Wonderful friendly hosts who spoke very good English. Perfect location. Upgraded to a larger room with a view of the central square. Very clean and warm (especially in the very cold weather). Hot water for tea available all day. Fantastic shower - not so easy to find in Turkey. Early check-in. Great value Turkish breakfast. If I go back to Selcuk I would definitely stay here every time.
The hotel is located in Selçuk which is very convenient if you are planning to visit Ephesus. Also it may be ideal to spend a night while traveling with car to/from İzmir airport. My room (number 6) was quite big, had a very nice decoration with a big bed and a nice balcony. Hotel has a terrace with a magnificent view which you can take a drink and relax, loved the atmosphere.
I was in this hotel 8 years ago and I visited it again. In the meantime, the hotel has been completely renovated. The rooms are nicely decorated and comfortable. Parking in front of the hotel. A few steps from St. John's Basilica. Beautiful terrace with a view (including some rooms ) on the Temple of Artemis. The breakfast is solid and usual for smaller hotels in Turkey
We spent a night in the Mary’s house hotel, during a trip in turkey.
The hotel was really well situated. A little peacefull place, with a warm welcome from our host, Bugra. Everything was perfect and an extra bonus for the local breakfast, with one of the best menemen we ate during our journey.
Thanks for everything and see you maybe with our children 😜
The location on the “historic” edge of Selçuk was great for walking to several sites, e. g. the temple of Artemis, the excellent small museum of Ephesus, the basilica of St. John. Hotel staff were uniformly friendly and helpful. Facilities were clean and modern and tasteful. and the Hotel restaurant was superb, with an excellent young chef.
this was my second visit to ENA. the hotel is near old town and quiet. the owners are lovely and very kind. Diana's breakfast is the best turkish breakfast you can get in Selçuk at least i would say the best in the whole türkiye. i would definitely recommend this accommodation to my friends and come back here again myself as well.:)
We stayed just one night to visit Ephesus. The room was very comfortable, location is perfect to reach the site and the staff is extremely friendly. Room has air conditioning, but also large windows with mosquitos’ nets. Bed and bathroom are comfortable. Good breakfast with both sweet and salty food (rare in Turkey).
The owner helped us to have a perfect experience in Selçuk (gave us very helpful tips on touristic spots and cheap, delicious restaurants, called cabs for us). He allowed us to store our bags in the hotel after check out.
Swimming pool area is very nice.
Breakfast was good and filling.
Overall a really great stay.
One of the best places on our itinerary! Postcard perfect little house, tastefully decorated with local crafts. The best view. Incredible breakfast. The town itself is definitely one of the highlights of Turkey. Make sure to take a walk to Mathematical village if you have a couple of hours to spare.
It was one of the best hotels we stayed in Turkey. The location is great being close to both the town centre and the historical Ephesus site. The room was clean and comfortable. The owner and people working there were very nice and helpful and the traditional Turkish breakfast spread was very tasty!
A very nice hotel. As it is in Turkey, very good, tasty and huge breakfasts consisting of fresh ingredients. Although the rooms are not huge, they are in quite sufficient for 2-3 day stays. Great view of the city and sunsets :)
I also recommend to families with children!
The property and facilities were absolutely beautiful and extremely comfortable. The staff at the hotel were also extremely friendly, warm, and accommodating. If we are ever back in Selçuk, we would stay here again in a heartbeat.
Little Italy in Turkey. very nicely maintained. the view is “eye candy”. very good restaurant- we were pleasantly surprised with food taste and service.
