The location is simply breathtaking, the room was spacious, modern, clean and comfortable. Frau and Herr Ratgeb are wonderful hosts, very polite and friendly. Our German knowledge is quite poor but we got by nevertheless. The dinners were absolutely fantastic: Austrian cuisine is not particularly famous, so it took us by surprise how delicious every meal that we tried here was (and we aren't people who are easily impressed when it comes to food).

incredible room very nice design and furniture i like the way the room looks like. the possibilities of having caffemachines and modifying the rooms etc. is also very cool concept the hotel is very close to the train station. which is another advantage.

Incredible catle right in front of Bergclick hotel with hawks and eagles demonstrartions at 11 and 15 o'clock and Wisriesenwelt, an enormous cave with ice all around inside that makes you feel like walking innanother world during a guided tour.

This town is a must visit for someone who is looking for...
This town is a must visit for someone who is looking for something different. Eisriesenwelt is largest Ice Cave in the world and it is totally worth it, nice little adventure. There is also Hohenwerfen fortress next to the town, it was interesting to me as it was filming location of Where Eagles Dare, a great WWII themed film with Burton and Eastwood. But sadly it was not emphasised enough in castle itself. In any case great place to visit. I bet it is beautiful in winter too for the guys who like snow and skiing.

If you get a chance to stay here, do it!
If you get a chance to stay here, do it! This place is a dream. The views alone are miraculous, with a view of the mountains and hills all around, and the castle in the middle of the valley. You can also see an adorable little town nestled up against the peaks. The apartment itself is fantastic, clean, completely updated and new, with beautiful rooms and a modern feel. The family is generous with their time and help, and the farm is full of animals: bunnies, kittens, chickens, goats, horses, etc. We visited with all the animals, but the girls especially loved the kittens! All they wanted to do was pet them. The farm is close to so many sites, with the castle right there, and Salzburg and Hallstatt only an hour away. We stayed three nights and were so sad to leave.

Not only a wonderful view of the nearby mountain peaks, but you could see Werfen castle from the bedroom windows as well. The setting was picturesque and wonderful. We couldn't have asked for a better place to stay. You do have to drive up onto the mountain side about 10 minutes--but that's part of what made it so fantastic. I think I got the best room: on the 2nd floor with balcony, view at the mountains and the castle. The staff were the owners themselves. (husband and wife). Super friendly, nice and flexible. Cozy room. Delicious breakfast. Fair price. More restaurants in the neighbourhood.

The house is full and well equipped. There is so much space that 9 people felt comfortable. The owner is super friendly. I strongly recommend this place. And remember. It is next to the old church so be prepared for bells ringing at 6.00 am. :)

There are a few really good restaurants in nearby town. Hohenwerfen Castle is a must to visit. We were happy to see there a program with flying falcons, bald eagles and griffon vultures.
