Four of us arrived on individual motorcycles, parked outside hotel. The rooms were very spacious and very clean. Reception staff very friendly. Breakfast was lovely and plenty to choose from. Spaces outside to sit down and relax. We stayed another night on our return journey from Germany. Would definitely use this hire again.

Lovely hotel room overlooking the main square of Poperinge (we were actually upgraded from the Maison de la Paix, which is owned by the central hotel of the same name). Room was modern and well-equipped, with a pleasant terrace - perfect location to explore the surrounding hop fields, breweries and cafes (which we would hugely recommend!).

A delightful and picturesque town with so much to see and enjoy. Excellent bars and places to eat. A bit like a smaller version of Ypres but less manic. Cafe De La Paix was a good place to get a wide selection of beers and a good meal. Talbot House is a must to see. Easy and pleasant place to walk around in the evening.

Very friendly place. The people were very helpful. Felt very safe and welcoming. We managed to get everything we needed or wanted in either Poperinge or Ieper, which is just down the road.
It is a great location for visiting both Belgium and France. The food we ate was excellent.

Interesting little town - plenty to see and do in and around the town for a short break. Restaurants a bit pricey - but plenty of choice. Would particularly recommend the Hop Museum, making a trip out to the St Bernardus brewery (great value guided tour /beer tasting- book in advance) and visiting Ghent and Brugge. You can also walk to St Sixtus monastery (more beer- and a cafe for lunch!).

Recommend that you hire bikes, great cycle paths and relatively little traffic. You can cycle easily to Watou and the famous trappist abbey/brewery Westleveteren quite easily. Short train trip to Ypres as well.

Very nice city, especially for people interested in beer and hops.
There are many good belgian breweries in the neighborhood, f.ex. Westvleteren and St. Bernardus.
There is also a nice hop museum in Poperinge.
There is also a lot of war history from the 1st WW in the area.
The city itself is quite small and cosy.
I would recon it would be especially nice in the summer, the areas arould is very nice for biking and beer tasting combined :-)
Otherwise taxi is quite difficult to get, especially in weekends. The taxis have to come from Leper, as there is no taxi companys in Poperinge.

Didn't really spend too much time Poperinge on this occasion as I was using it as a base for touring, but what I did was absolutely fine and as expected. I would recommend Talbot House as a must see.
Our room was recently refurbished: modern styling and probably acoustics have been taken into account as it was a very quiet room. The bed was very comfy. Bathroom well equipped, not big, but practical. Everything was there.
Breakfast buffet is what you would expect: good choice.
We had dinner at the restaurant: highly recommended.
The location is great in the centre of Poperinge.
Rude and unhelpful. Did not want to address our concerns. We left but the woman was shouting for her money. We are attempting to get a refund however they are refusing. She was very flippant about the parking but then later tried to say it had CCTV after we complained to booking.com. We didn't stay the night but moved to a hotel where the staff were polite and helpful.
Beautiful building full of history, great location, we stayed in the garden room. The gardens were stunning and a hearty breakfast was provided. We left our bikes in the shed and sat and had a Wipers times Belgien beer in the garden, there is lots of information displayed around the house and gardens reminding you of the importance of the building in WW1
The bathroom was just great. Nicely appointed. Great shower. A place to put things. Towel bars (what a concept! Why have so many hotels done away with towel bars? They ask us to save water and hang up a towel, yet they no longer provide towel bars in most hotels!!! AAARRGGGGHHHH). Free parking right on the Main Street in front of the hotel.
Very nice hotel, pool was very welcome after a long day's drive, sadly it was only a quick stop over we arrived late and left in the morning so didn't get the full experience but what we did experience was excellent, room was great, bed was one of the best I've slept in abroad, I will stay again if I'm passing
Ideal location for a one night stop travelling through Belgium after arriving in Calais from the UK.
Staff were exceptional and room was great. Breakfast was also very good.
No dislikes. Would definitely stay again and may do so on our return leg of the tour.
Great stay in this small town - feels like a gem! We were 'upgraded' to stay in the actual hotel vs the guesthouse down the street. We enjoyed being in the building with the restaurant - which we also ate at and loved!
Quite. Clean. Charming 14 modern room place in the heart of town. Walk to the train station in less than 10 minutes. Rent a bike from the hotel and enjoy the country side. Delicious fresh breakfast. Great value.
The historic connections. The uniqueness. The importance to Canadian and world history. The commitment of the wardens. The house cat. The location in Poperinge.
