Great that you can walk everywhere... every turn offers you something to look at......Despite buying tickets for Uffizi upfront, the queues were ridiculous. We thoroughly enjoyed Santa Croce, beautiful place, straight in and soo peaceful in all the hussle and bussle around... We were there early May and it was busy so can imagine it in the height of summer being extreme (not for us). Florence has its own charms and it is much cleaner city than Roma. we stayed 3 nights and could have stayed longer. wished we took a winery tour but the city offers diverse options for every travelers.

Florence is a great place to visit, it has many museums and other historic/ art sites to see, it’s like walking back in time. It is easy to get around walking, except for the crowds. Definitely a place to visit during the offseason months Jan-March. It is suffering from overcrowding the rest of the time. They have turned most of the beautiful streets into flea markets. It’s weird how you can have luxury boutiques and cheap stalls almost next to each other. The food…it definitely has nice places worth a visit, but also a lot of overpriced tourist traps with mediocre quality. It is must to see the city’s main sites, but I would not come back just to enjoy the city.

Dinner was fine but a bit overpriced. €18 euro for a small primi, which is very different to the rest of Italy.
