La ciutat emmurallada i l'entorn és realment impressionant. És un lloc molt agradable per passejar i desconnectar, amb unes quantes botigues i restaurants. És difícil aparcar prop de la porta del Kastro; hi ha, però, un servei d'autobús llançadora des del quiosc del pont. A Gèfyra hi ha tota mena de serveis (supermercats, botigues, farmàcia, restaurants, bars...) i el seu petit port és molt agradable a l'hora de sopar.
